Aleksander Bregman 1906-1967

Born in Warsaw on the 14th of August, 1906. In the Second Polish Republic, he was among the leading analysts and commentators of international affairs. Particularly well-known were his articles about the League of Nations, as he was the Polish Telegraphic Agency’s correspondent attached to that organization. From 1935 he edited the foreign section of Expres Poranny. In 1940 he joined the Polish Army in France. After the Second World War Bregman remained in exile and collaborated, among others, with the Wiadomości of London. His works include Dzieje pustego fotela: konferencja w San Francisco i sprawa polska (1947), Najlepszy sojusznik Hitlera (1958; on the Soviet-German collaboration), and Polska i nowa Europa (1963). He died in London on the 8th of August, 1967.
