Zygmunt Berezowski 1891-1979

Born in Potiejówka (in the Kiev Governorate) on the 17th of September, 1891; he died in London on the 1st of July, 1979. He was a journalist, publicist, and political activist of, among others, the National Party (SN). He studied law in Kraków and Kyiv. In 1922-1935 he held a seat in the Sejm of the Second Polish Republic. He was also active in the Polish Society for the Eastern Borderlands Protection as its secretary-general. During the Second World War Berezowski was a member of the Council of National Unity and was transferred from Poland to Great Britain in 1944. In 1944-1949 he served as Minister of Internal Affairs in the émigré governments of Tomasz Arciszewski and Tadeusz Komorowski. After the war he remained in exile in England, publishing his articles in the columns of, among others, “Myśl Polska”.
